Groove Heroine Recommends Mai Kuraki
Kuraki Mai is a well known J-Pop artist. She originally released songs with a more R&B feel, though recently she has switched to a mainstream pop sound. She had an unsuccessful US release under the name Mai-K. Kuraki Mai also has sung two duets with Singaporean superstar Sun Yan Zi.
I recommend most of her music (although I prefer the R&B side of her) , but I really enjoy her vocals in her first single " Love, Day, After Tomorrow". If you find her similiar to Utada Hikaru, that's normal. They debuted in the same year, and they used the genre "R&B" vocally to their advantage.
